Mauro from Columbus sent us over another XCr stainless steel tubeset to try out. This will be the second one we have made. We have no plans on offering this as an option for our stainless steel SSR yet, but it is always good to know thy materials.
The tubing came with each tube individually wrapped and an exceptionally smooth surface inside and out. Just a few minutes of polishing and the metal developed a beautifully soft luster. The inside of the tubing is even smoooother with precise butt transitions.
Mmmm... A really nice tubeset.

Looks like nice tubing. For your Stainless Report, could you include some thoughts on BB30 and whether you guys are considering offering it for future SSR/SSX frames?
XCr is seemless tubing, whereas 953 is annealed, similar to how 3/2.5 ti is seemless and 6/4 ti is a sheet then rolled and welded into a tube. Isn't that right? If so, then XCr seems the stronger option because of the grain incongruities that that welding brings to the tube? If it comes down to price, I'd pay a little more to have full integrity in the tube, especially since something like this is a lifetime purchase...John
