Titanium :: Deluxe :: Coover

Coover had a vision.

A baby blue and white Titanium Deluxe.

Coover sent us many cookies.

Coover sent us rice crispy treats.

Coover bribed us.

Even though he didn't have to.

Now we are full of cookies and treats....

... and Coover's bike is in the mail.

We're all hoping that this becomes a trend.

Velocity Yellow :: Hot Pink :: Fade

Okay, close your eyes and imagine this: a bicycle frame and fork painted Velocity Yellow on the front faded to Hot Pink on the rear with yellow on green decals. Ewww, right?
Let me be honest here folks. I'm not a big fan of fades. If you're a firefighter and we're talking about a haircut then yes, I am a fan, but as far as bicycle paint jobs go, usually I am a no-go when it comes to fades. But there are always exceptions and the paint job on this touring bike is one of them.

I remember this bike showing up in the welding department and seeing the paint job on the work order and thinking "Oh no, here we go... this is gonna hurt."

But in a way, it works.

It's kinda hot.

I realize that this is my opinion, and so should you, so take it for what it's worth....

And did I mention that this is a touring bike? I think I did.

LPB :: Ti :: 29er

This is Leah's Titanium Deluxe. It is an all-out race bike from one of our former racers.

I remember welding the daylights out of this frame. Everything about it is super-duty.

The burl factor is very high with this frame.

Although she has it set up as a singlespeed right now (via the chain tensioner) this bike was originally designed for gears with all of the proper cable stops.

Clint painted her Salsa fork orange to match her decals and also added some adorable little details...

Kittens. That's right, kittens on the fork blades.

See this bike as well as a whole posse of I.F. singlespeeds at the Singlespeed-a-Palooza this coming weekend.

Disturbed :: Ti Cross Bike

This thing is big.

One might even say gargantuan.

Although we have made many bigger bikes it's rare that we fully build them up in-house. The size of the frame really makes those 700c wheels look small.

IF steel cross fork set up for Paul Racer brakes.

Shotpeened finish. "The best finish for a titanium bicycle frame EVER" - Clint Lunsford.

Top tube cable routing.

The little pulley behind the seat tube is there so a bottom pull front derailleur can be used.

Dura Ace gruppo with Wipperman ConneX 10sG chain.

20lbs total and ready to be straddled by some long legs.

Finnbarr :: Life Tubing :: SS

Finnbarr's newest version of a singlespeed commuter, well sort of. It's a singlespeed now but he's got some options for gears in the future.

The orange accent color is Hemi Orange, the same orange from the General Lee. I see this color making a comeback.

Many of the parts were scrounged from his previous build.

This bike was designed for long reach brakes, this allows for larger tires and clearance for fenders.

This saddle has been on many of Finn's bikes throughout the years.

The frame is outfitted with all of the fixins for future fender use. Above is the chainstay bridge with fender mount.

He's running 32's and there is still room for more.

As I eluded to earlier, this frame has a geared option. Note the horizontal dropout with the derailleur hanger dangling below.

The non-drive side also has a handy feature.... a bottle opener.

Simple, fast and easy.

The Shredders :: SS-RGD

After what seems like weeks of torrential rains, finally a warm sunny day. So what do we do?... Leave work early and ride! Above we have The Shredders: Joe, Tyler, Leah, Clint and Finn. Each of us on our fully rigid singlespeeds, two 26'ers and three 29'ers.

This time of year is really beautiful but the trails are a little moist and littered with a winters worth of downed trees but that just gave us an even greater opportunity to SHRED!

Finn, pondering the river crossing.

Joe and Clint... not pondering so much.

Only one technicality on the ride, a flat. But really there isn't too much that can go wrong with a singlespeed beyond that.

Oh wait... are you taking pictures? Let me apply my lipstick.
